Dear Woosy,
I believe my overly nice nature prevents me from recognizing the negative aspects of people.
Recently, a builder came to my home to provide a quote for an extension. I inquired if he had any happy clients, and he mentioned he frequently worked for John Howard & Kylie Minogue.
He subsequently requested thirty thousand dollars upfront, and only after I handed him the money and he left did I realize I had no means to contact him. Two weeks have passed since then, and he has yet to return to commence the work.
Do you think that taking assertiveness classes would be beneficial for me?
I would appreciate a swift response, as I’m torn over whether to send the rest of my savings to a Kenyan prince who seems to have an unusual situation with his bank account. I don’t believe it’s a scam, but one can never be too sure.
Woosy says – It never ceases to amaze me how individuals, like you with no offense intended, allow themselves to be duped by scoundrels and deceitful individuals.
Seriously! Have you lost your mind? It’s truly unbelievable that someone could be so incredibly naïve!! Only a complete fool would hand over 30k to a builder without knowing more.
Regardless, I hope this advice serves you well and… Oh, just one more thing! My fee is $1500, so please send a cheque to C/O Ozzie News.
