World Rally Championship’s commercial chief Vladimir Antonov is facing a European arrest warrant due to a case related to the misappropriation of funds from Snoras Bank.
Warrants have been issued for both Antonov and his business associate Raimondas Baranauskas, following the trading suspension of two banks, Snoras and Krajbanka.
Antonov holds interests in both financial institutions.
On Monday, the WRC chief was in London for discussions with the FIA and WRC manufacturers. Convers Sports Initiatives, which possesses the rights to the WRC, stated that they are not impacted by the trading suspension.
A statement from Lithuanian prosecutors regarding the warrants noted:
“Both former managers of the bank Snoras have been recognized as suspects concerning large-scale property misappropriation and document forgery. The European arrest warrants issued against these individuals were signed by Prosecutor General Mr. D. Valys.”
