A European arrest warrant has been issued for World Rally Championship commercial chief Vladimir Antonov over an case involving the misappropriation of funds from Snoras Bank.
Warrants have been issued for Antonov and his business partner Raimondas Baranauskas as two banks, Snoras and Krajbanka, had their trading suspended.
Antonov has interest in both banks.
The WRC boss was in London on Monday meeting with the FIA and with WRC manufacturers. Convers Sports Initiatives, who own the rights to the WRC say that they are unaffected by the trade suspension.
Lithuanian proscecutors released a statement over the warrants saying:
“Both former managers of the bank Snoras have been recognised as suspects with regard to the misappropriation of property on a large scale and
forgery of documents. Prosecutor General Mr D. Valys signed the European arrest warrants issued against these persons.”
