Titus Bramble of Sunderland has found himself once again in the news, as the defender has been arrested on suspicion of drug possession and sexual assault.
Authorities have confirmed that Bramble was taken into custody for questioning following his arrest in Cleveland, located near Middlesborough.
Sunderland stated, “The club is looking into this matter but due to ongoing police investigations is unable to comment further at this stage.”
Back in 2002, charges of rape against Bramble along with fellow footballers Carlton Cole and Kieran Dyer were dropped due to a lack of sufficient evidence.
The previous year, Bramble was detained but subsequently released without charge after an alleged incident of rape occurred in a hotel room in Newcastle.
