On Saturday night, Sydney’s Valvoline Raceway will host the $10,000 Daily Telegraph Sizzler, featuring many of Australia’s premier Sprint Car drivers.
Leading the winged 410 charge are David Murcott, the newly crowned Australian Sprint Car champion, former national #1 Robbie Farr, and Trevor Green from South Australia.
Trevor Green recently earned $20,000 within a week at the Sydney circuit during the International season, clinching both the NSW championship and a double-header against World of Outlaws stars Steve Kinser, Kraig Kinser, Dale Blaney, Tim Kaeding, and Brad Sweet.
“It’s rewarding to win a couple of the major events on my own merit rather than just lucking into a trophy, if you understand what I mean,” stated the Natrad driver.
“Upon hearing about Mike Raymond’s ten-grand-to-win event at Parramatta in March, I immediately informed him that I was in,” he added.
Among the competition are Darwin’s Ben Atkinson, Valvoline front runner Max Dumesny, former premiership winner Ian Loudoun, the Bellbowen brothers, Roddy and Toby, along with 35 other contenders.
The race, spanning 35 laps around Valvoline Raceway’s red clay oval, will showcase the 24 top qualifiers.
The night’s highest qualifier will draw an inverted starting position of six, eight, or ten.
In addition to the $10k to win Sprintcar Sizzler, the NSW Demolition Derby championship will also take place.
