Next season, the 31-year-old will finalize his Italian partnership with the Bologna factory, having agreed to a two-year contract.
Ducati and Valentino Rossi have inked a two-year agreement that will see the nine-time World Champion racing the “Rossa” for the Ducati Team starting in 2011.
Valentino’s arrival at Ducati marks a new and thrilling chapter in both the Italian factory’s sporting legacy and the broader MotoGP Championship. The chance to align with such an extraordinary rider and persona is perceived by Ducati as immensely valuable to the entire Ducati MotoGP project.
“We are thrilled to announce Valentino Rossi’s collaboration with us from 2011,” remarked Gabriele Del Torchio, president of Ducati Motor Holding. “He embodies excellence in the realm of motorcycling, aligning perfectly with our Italian brand that symbolizes ‘made in Italy’ prestige. These fundamental values are crucial for success, particularly in technology, design, and sportsmanship. This agreement was made possible not only through the passionate intentions of both parties but also thanks to the unwavering support of our shareholder Investindustrial and all the sponsors associated with the Ducati Team, who have faith in this opportunity and back our decisions.”
Filippo Preziosi, Ducati Corse General Director, stated: “Firstly, Valentino is a huge motorcycle enthusiast, making it a pleasure for me to hear his insights. Until the Valencia GP, he will still be a competitor, one who has always added special significance to our victories, but once he rides the Ducati for the first time, we will collaborate on every detail to create a bike that showcases his immense talent. Working with Valentino is one of the most exhilarating prospects for any engineer, and it’s reassuring to know we will have this fantastic opportunity next season.”
