Hargreaves may sign for Foxes after fitness video

There seems to be success with Owen Hargreaves’ YouTube advertising campaign, as Sven-Goran Eriksson is now likely to include the Manchester United outcast in his plans at nPower Championship club Leicester City.

After being left off the roster at Barclays Premier League champions Manchester United, Hargreaves, plagued by injuries in recent years, shared training videos on YouTube to showcase his football fitness. Eriksson found these clips impressive enough to consider making a bid for the ex-England midfielder.

“I saw his videos,” was Eriksson’s statement.

“If he wishes to come here, I will welcome him with open arms.”

The Foxes, boasting wealthy owners in King Power, are outshining every other Championship club in the soccer transfer market as they aim to construct a team capable of achieving promotion to the Premier League.

On Thursday, Eriksson set a new transfer record for the club by acquiring Reading centre-back Matt Mills for £5.2 million ($7.7 million), overcoming Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers in a bidding contest, and next in line could be Hargreaves, who is 30 years old.

In addition, Eriksson has already secured centre-back Sean St Ledger, full-back Lee Peltier, and striker David Nugent, and he is eager to also bring in striker Nicky Maynard from Bristol City for £5 million.
