Great Sportswomen – Anna Rawson

Anna Rawson was born in Adelaide and first stepped into the spotlight at the age of sixteen, when she won a modelling competition for Dolly magazine.

In 2000, she played in the Australian Open, where she was recruited for a golfing scholarship at the University of Southern California.

Anna Rawson feeling a ballShe led the USC team to their first national championship and in 2003, she was invited to the White House to play a round of golf with George W. Bush.

She described his game as “very average.”

Anna finished 5th in the Orient Masters in China, which was her first professional event. During her first Futures Tour, Ann had 2 top ten finished, and was ranked 22nd on her average scores for the year.

In November 2005, Anna travelled to Spain to the Ladies European Tour School where she qualified in 3rd place and earned her 2006 tour card.

On the European Tour, Anna had 5 top ten finished and 8 top twenty finishes, with her lowest round score being 67.

In 2007, with a top twenty finish at Q-school, Anna qualified for the Ladies Professional Golf Association.

As a golfer, Anna has been able to partner with charities and raise money worthy causes. Although her time is limited, Anna takes part in charity golf matches and host special events.
