It was revealed last night that cricketer Freddie Flintoff was rushed to the hospital after suffering a fractured rib while filming his new extreme sports show.
While training for a wrestling tag match with his former England teammate Darren Gough in Mexico, Freddie, 33, was taken down unexpectedly.
He underwent an X-ray, which confirmed the fracture of a rib.
Freddie expressed, “You experience all sorts of injuries playing cricket, and this was my first day in this sport, and I ended up fracturing a rib.
“I was devastated by it. I also felt embarrassed.”
The show’s spokeswoman commented, “His physio instructed him to go to the hospital.
“The X-ray showed that he would be unable to participate in the wrestling challenge that night.”
In the series titled Freddie Flintoff versus The World, the former Test star will also face off against Darren in cliff diving and paintball para-gliding.
This eight-part series features Freddie competing against a variety of other retired sports figures, including Dennis Wise, Iwan Thomas, and Dennis Rodman, in challenges like bull-riding and wing-walking.
The show is set to premiere on January 25.
