Winning the Champions League is not out of reach for Spurs, though their progress has been commendable…it remains highly improbable.
In previous tournaments, unlikely champions have emerged, typically with Mourinho at the helm.
This is not to diminish Harry Redknapp’s contributions. Spurs have demonstrated their capability to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League. The performances of William Gallas and Michael Dawson have been exceptional.
Tonight, they are set to face Real Madrid in Spain. I cannot envision a scenario where they defeat the formidable Spanish side, whether at home or away…it truly is a daunting task. Nonetheless, one advantageous aspect for them is that Harry Redknapp is an English manager, and Real Madrid seldom encounters teams that attempt, at the very least, to implement British-style football. Chelsea, Manchester United, and Arsenal consist largely of non-British players under non-British management employing a non-British style of play.
Real Madrid is expected to advance, and most likely will…but then again, who knows what surprises Harry might have in store.
