Beckham isn’t hanging his boots up yet

It doesn’t appear that David Beckham will be trading soccer for the sofa anytime soon.

Reportedly, the 37-year-old athlete has been given the opportunity to host his own sports-focused talk show, with Time Warner Cable, a US-based company, allegedly ‘desperate’ to secure him as their headline attraction.

Moreover, the midfielder of Los Angeles Galaxy has been rumored to receive a ‘multi-million’ dollar contract to lead their new sports network in America, aiming to attract millions of viewers away from competing channels.

However, the claims have been dismissed as having ‘no truth’ to them.

The proposed weekly show would allow the father-of-four to interview other stars, discuss game strategies, and have ‘free rein’ over a variety of sports topics.

According to Mike Raia, a media analyst based in Los Angeles, ‘Now’s the time he needs to really capitalize on his celebrity in the US. He can even initiate his showbiz career while continuing to play.’

In a development that could likely cause unrest among television executives, reports suggest that David plans to leave LA Galaxy for New York, enabling his wife, Victoria Beckham, to advance her fashion career.

Insiders connected to the former England and Manchester United player, who transitioned to the US from Spain’s Real Madrid as part of a $30 million deal in 2007, assert that he does not intend to retire from football.

Nevertheless, it is believed that he and Victoria are contemplating a move to New York along with their children: Brooklyn, 13, Romeo, ten, Cruz, seven, and 16-month-old daughter Harper.

‘The outdoors lifestyle in LA has been cherished by the family for five years. However, as the children mature, the couple is looking towards their future careers.’
