US marines aid Japan

Recently, US marines have arrived in Japan to offer emergency assistance should the situation at the troubled Fukushima nuclear power plant escalate.

The team, specially trained and equipped with gas masks and grey radiation suits, engaged in drills alongside their Japanese counterparts. Master Sgt Mark Dumdie mentioned, “We’re here to be a quick reaction force if something really bad does happen.”

Japan has announced a delay in its plans to cease the discharge of radioactive water into the ocean from the facility. Nearby countries, including China, have expressed concern over not being kept updated regarding the ongoing crisis.
