Suspension has been placed on a married teacher and his classroom assistant due to an alleged sex romp film.
After a colleague found the video on a school computer, the pair are at risk of losing their jobs.
The video features a man seated in a chair in what appears to be an office, smiling and looking at the camera while a woman performs a sexual act on him.
Mid-encounter, the woman also looks toward the camera and subsequently raises her top. Now, 46-year-old assistant head Tim Edwards and 50-year-old Angela Thornhill have been suspended pending an investigation to determine if they are the individuals in the video.
The inquiry at Addington High School, located in Croydon, South London, seeks to find out if the film was recorded on school grounds.
It remains unclear if the computer on which the film was discovered was accessible to the 800 students attending the school.
Mr. Edwards, who has a salary of around $72,000, is the head of Information and Communications Technologies, educating children on the Computer Misuse Act.
A source remarked, “It’s disgusting that something like this was left on a school computer.”
At his residence in nearby Warlingham, Mr. Edwards stated, “I can’t comment on anything. The council is investigating.”
Mrs. Thornhill, a mother of two who is estranged from her husband, transitioned from being a cleaner to a classroom assistant last September. She did not respond to knocks at her home.
A spokesperson for the school commented, “The school and its governors are addressing an internal matter. It would be inappropriate to provide further remarks.”
