So this is why the Poms are useless at soccer

An apology has been issued by a council in northern England after a fence was constructed right through the soccer goalposts in a local park.

The installation of the new fence, which cost nearly $10,000, was carried out by City of York Council workers at a soccer pitch located in the Heworth suburb as part of the park facility upgrades.

Dave Meigh, the head of parks and open spaces for City of York Council, stated, “We acknowledge that not moving the goalposts is a significant mistake.”

He added that he had requested “immediate attention to rectify the issue and we sincerely apologize for the oversight.”
