A man from Zimbabwe is asserting that a prostitute he met transformed into a donkey overnight, and he now claims to be ‘seriously in love’ with the animal.
On Monday, in a Zvishavane court, Sunday Moyo, who faces charges of bestiality, revealed that his donkey companion was actually a sex worker he had encountered at a nightclub.
In the early hours of Sunday, police on a routine patrol discovered the 28-year-old from Mandava township engaging in a sexual act with the donkey in his yard. The animal was found lying on the ground, its neck tied to a tree.
According to the New Zimbabwe news website, Moyo acknowledged the charge of bestiality but proceeded to recount his vivid narrative to the magistrates: ‘Your worship, I was unaware that I was being intimate with a donkey until I got arrested.
‘I had paid $20 for a prostitute’s services at Down Town nightclub, and I cannot explain how she turned into a donkey… but I am truly in love.’
Moyo has been remanded in custody until October 27 and is required to undergo psychiatric evaluations.
