Prank caller got KFC staff to strip naked

A cruel prank caller hoaxed the STAFF at a KFC, convincing them to spray themselves with a fire extinguisher, strip down, and go outside.

Two employees required hospital treatment due to the chemical exposure from the fire extinguisher.

According to Cook Mary McCarthy, store manager Sonia Gilbert at the KFC in Manchester, New Hampshire, US, received a call from a man claiming to be from the corporate office.

He instructed Ms. Gilbert to test the fire suppression system.

Following his directive, Ms. McCarthy stated that this led to the release of a chemical powder in the sandwich preparation area where both she and fellow employee Fay Owens were working.

The caller subsequently ordered the women to strip and go outside, claiming they had been contaminated.

Police arrived at the restaurant shortly thereafter.

Sergeant Todd Boucher reported that officers responded to a call regarding a naked woman in a doorway.

He mentioned that the prank caller had instructed the staff to go outside, remove their clothing, and urinate on one another, which raised their suspicions.

The KFC workers were then taken to a nearby hospital. District Fire Chief Michael Gamache indicated that, due to the chemical powder acting as a respiratory irritant, the employees required examination, and the restaurant needed to be sanitized and authorized to reopen by the City Health Department.
