In Tokyo, a 55-year-old unemployed Japanese man has been detained for filming three schoolgirls as they spat out saliva.
On Tuesday, police reported that Toshihiko Mizuno was apprehended on Monday under suspicion of “habitual indecency,” which could result in up to a year in prison or a fine of $12,400. According to a police spokesperson, Mizuno approached the three girls, aged nine and ten, in October and December of last year, often near apartment buildings or on the street, claiming, “I am conducting research on saliva. Please provide me with your saliva.” The official added, “He recorded them while they expelled saliva and asked them to open their mouths to capture footage of their mouths and tongues.” It was reported that he engaged in these actions habitually to fulfill his sexual urges. Media sources, citing police information, revealed Mizuno had approached around 4,000 young girls and had gathered saliva from approximately 500 of them over the span of 17 years in Tokyo and neighboring Saitama.
The authorities discovered 26 videotapes in his residence that displayed over 200 girls, according to reports from the Jiji and Kyodo news agencies.
