Oldest prostitute twins retire at 70

After half a century in the sex trade, two twin sister pensioners have decided to retire as prostitutes, having collectively been with 355,000 men.

Prostitute Twins

At 70 years old, Louise and Martine Fokkens report that continuing to work in Amsterdam’s notorious ‘red light zone’ has become a ‘painful’ struggle.

They assert their status as the oldest prostitutes in the Dutch city and appeared in a documentary film called Meet The Fokkens last year.

Louise, a mother of four, confessed that her arthritis renders certain positions ‘too painful’ – while Martine, a mother of three, has noted a decrease in clientele.

Martine mentioned that only one elderly man, who is fond of his weekly S&M sessions, still visits her regularly.

‘Giving him up would be impossible. He has been a long-time client; it feels like going to church on a Sunday,’ added Martine.

While brothels were legalized in the Netherlands in 2000, the sisters argue that this ‘has not improved prostitutes’ lives’.

Martine commented, ‘It might be better for the pimps and the foreigners, but it has not benefited the Dutch girls.’

Nonetheless, the twins remain optimistic that their film rights income will sustain them during their upcoming retirement years.
