Readers of a blog have been both disgusted and infuriated by a new father who aims to sustain himself on his wife’s breast milk.
The blogger, referred to as Curtis, states that his wife’s surplus of breast milk has filled their freezer and is difficult to distribute.
To tackle this issue, he has devised a plan to consume the milk exclusively, while sharing this distinct journey on his blog – Don’t Have A Cow, Man.
‘I realize how strange this might appear; it’s a bit strange for me too, but why not? Cow’s milk is intended for calves; why shouldn’t we drink human breast milk meant for human infants?’ he contends.
Curtis has also mentioned that this unique diet has alleviated some digestive issues he was facing.
Nonetheless, anyone considering this diet for their health may want to reconsider before indulging.
According to paediatrician Dr. Tonse Raju from the National Institutes of Health, a diet based entirely on breast milk is unlikely to meet the needs of an adult human.
‘Human milk has evolved to cater to the nutritional requirements of babies during their growth phases. As you grow larger, your needs change,’ he clarified.
The whimsical blog has unexpectedly sparked a wave of debate, with reader comments drawing attention to the issue of breast milk shortages both in the United States and worldwide.
