Man fakes knife attack to impress date

In an attempt to impress his date, a man orchestrated an attack on himself and the woman he was with, using a knife.

However, the plan backfired when she declared that she would never speak to him again.

Authorities were informed that, while enjoying a spring walk in an Arkansas forest park, a man armed with a large knife confronted the couple.

While the woman fled, 26-year-old Tyler Siegel bravely stayed to confront the attacker, sustaining cuts to his chest and wrist during the altercation.

Officers in Jonesboro searched unsuccessfully for the supposed assailant – only to discover that Siegel had actually asked a friend to stage the attack to impress the girl.

To further the illusion, Siegel had even inflicted the injuries on himself.

Unfortunately, the clever scheme ended in disaster.

She shared with local media that the experience felt ‘very real’ but did not view the incident as showcasing Siegel as a hero. She mentioned that she was no longer in touch with him, her would-be protector.

Siegel told law enforcement that the event ‘just really got out of hand very fast.’

The silver lining for him in this unfortunate situation is that he is not facing any legal repercussions.
