Taking his passion to new heights, an aeroplane enthusiast has transformed his son’s bedroom into a Boeing 737 flight simulator that closely replicates the real aircraft.
Laurent Aigon, a 40-year-old from Lacanau, France, has dedicated the past five years to sourcing components from all over the globe along with his best friend and fellow enthusiast, Jean-Paul Dupuy, to assemble this simulator.
The duo has invested thousands of euros into purchasing parts online to build this simulator, which has garnered attention from the Institute of Aircraft Maintenance at Bordeaux-Merignac Airport, leading them to invite him for a lecture on his impressive project.
Mr. Aigon has educated himself on the intricacies of flying, mastering takeoff and landing procedures, and claims he can operate his ‘plane’ just like a professional pilot.
Additionally, major aircraft manufacturers have expressed interest in his creation, seeking to utilize it for various scenario simulations.
The thoughts of Mr. Aigon’s son, who shares the room and sleeps in a bunk bed squeezed into one corner to accommodate the simulator, regarding his father’s elaborate hobby (and the influx of engineers hoping to check it out) remain unknown.
