Police report a bloody and screaming naked man who severed a portion of his penis during a drug-induced frenzy.
Found around 1 a.m. on June 18, the 41-year-old from Columbus, Ohio, whose identity remains undisclosed, was located after deputies from Washtenaw County responded to an alarm triggered by a broken window at a school in Ypsilanti. Upon arrival, they discovered the man kneeling outside the school, naked and covered in blood from the waist down, having torn part of his genitals off.
“He mutilated his genitals with his bare hands,” stated Sgt. Geoff Fox. “He was making a lot of noise, yelling and screaming.”
According to investigators, he confessed to consuming “magic” mushrooms prior to losing control and attempting to claw at his penis and scrotum. Over six officers were required to subdue him.
Parts of his body were transported to the hospital with him.
“His vital signs were alarmingly low — nearing the brink of death — likely due to blood loss, shock, and trauma to the body,” Fox explained.
The initial toxicology report didn’t show anything significant but noted that further testing would be conducted. Currently, he is in stable condition, and police plan to pursue burglary charges against him.
