The national soccer team of Libya has witnessed the defection of four of its players and the coach of one of the country’s premier clubs, abandoning Colonel Gaddafi and his regime to join the anti-government rebels.
This decision serves as a significant propaganda setback for the Libyan dictator, particularly considering that the coach is Adel bin Issa, who is associated with al-Ahli, Tripoli’s leading club, owned by Gaddafi’s son, Al-Saadi.
Nato has also dismissed the Libyan government’s assertions that fifteen civilians lost their lives during an air strike on the oil town of Brega.
