An individual known for practical jokes has tried to take advantage of the UK horse meat controversy by putting a ‘limited edition’ Findus beef lasagne up for auction on eBay.
The creative seller has set the price of the frozen ready meal at £70, encouraging participants on the auction platform to ‘make a quick move’ to claim the item, which is ‘no longer available for purchase in stores’.
Those interested in the item, which was subsequently taken down from the platform, were cautioned that it ‘might include horse meat’.
The listing further noted: ‘Product will be shipped frozen but could arrive defrosted.’
Last week, Findus UK pulled its 320g, 360g, and 500g lasagne products from grocery store shelves after tests revealed that certain items contained 100 percent horse meat.
