The surge in fake cast purchases may stem from women feeling overwhelmed by the disproportionate amount of work they perform during the Chuseok festival.
Traditionally, they handle the majority of responsibilities, such as preparing and cooking intricate ceremonial meals, while the male family members engage in conversation, drink, and watch television.
“We have been selling these for a decade, but we saw a significant spike in sales starting last week,” remarked a manager from an online vendor who wished to remain anonymous.
However, the ruse might be exposed after several news outlets reported on the increased sales of these devices leading up to the holiday commencing on Sunday.
