Utilizing his contortionist abilities, a thief managed to pilfer belongings from travelers while they placed their luggage in the lower compartment of an airport bus, but he was ultimately apprehended when his accomplice abandoned him.
Krzysztof Grzegorz, the flexible offender, would climb into a suitcase, which a friend would then stow beneath the Barcelona airport transfer bus after purchasing a one-way ticket.
While concealed in the luggage compartment, Grzegorz would emerge to steal valuables like laptops and jewelry during the hour-long ride from Girona airport to Barcelona city center.
Upon arrival, the bag that contained Grzegorz would be collected and removed without any suspicion.
Victims, left stunned, often reported that items went missing only after they reached their hotels, leaving detectives puzzled as to how the thefts occurred within such a brief timeframe.
The clever duo was eventually caught when Grzegorz’s 29-year-old accomplice chose not to retrieve the suitcase, leaving him hidden beneath the bus.
When police responded to the call, they opened the suspicious case to discover Grzegorz holding tools for breaking zippers, a mobile phone, and a headlamp for visibility in darkness.
