This must be a fabrication, it simply cannot be real, yet it is. Indeed, a man has truly wed a dog.
I understand that a dog is often considered a man’s best friend, and while I have no issue with that, I thought that would be the extent of their relationship… at least one would hope.
This peculiar event took place in a traditional Hindu ceremony held at a temple located in the southern region of Tamil Nadu.
The groom, a 33-year-old farmer hailing from India, is named Selvakumar. His bride is a female dog known as Selvi.
The motivation behind marrying a dog stems from an incident where he stoned two other dogs to death and hung them from a tree 15 years prior. My heart goes out to Selvi, as I can’t help but ponder how long she will endure this situation.
He believes that his actions have brought about a curse, and he has suffered greatly as a result. This guy requires more than just a curse to deal with; he deserves to be punished severely.
Following the stoning of the dogs, he experienced paralysis in his limbs, lost hearing in one ear, and encountered speech difficulties.
Since doctors were unable to provide any assistance, Selvakumar sought help from an astrologer, who informed him that he was cursed by the spirits of the deceased dogs. To lift the curse, he would need to marry a dog and coexist with it, according to the soothsayer’s warning.
Relatives selected a stray female dog, who was subsequently bathed and dressed for the wedding ceremony.
The bride, Selvi, was escorted to the temple by women from the village, where a Hindu priest officiated the event.
After the ceremony, the despicable groom and his family indulged in a feast, while the dog was offered a mere bun.
Reports suggest that Selvi attempted to escape — likely overwhelmed by the throngs of people — but she was located and returned to her new ‘husband.’
“A dog is merely a vessel for lifting the curse, and afterward, he intends to find a legitimate wife,” said a friend of the groom.
Selvi, it’s time to run away now… you deserve far better than this twisted individual.
