Invented by a Swiss 17-year-old, this amazing creation involves welding half of a Renault Clio onto a motorbike. However, he was subsequently prohibited from riding or driving it on public roads after being stopped by the police.
Markus Sell, hailing from Jonschwil in Switzerland, attracted attention on his inaugural outing with this extraordinary machine, which positions the driver on the back passenger seat of the Clio while controlling it via the front wheel of a bike.
It was likely not the unusual seating that drew eyes, but rather his ability to reach speeds of up to 70mph.
Unfortunately, his first adventure came to an abrupt halt when he was apprehended by traffic officers.
The police swiftly dismissed him upon spotting what he was operating—mostly due to the numerous laws he was breaking simultaneously and their inability to categorize the vehicle.
“It wasn’t taxed, insured, or tested. In fact, we weren’t even sure if it was a car or a motorbike,” noted one officer.
“He’s a skilled mechanic, but he should stick to racetracks.”
Sell is reportedly planning to return to the drawing board to create something similar—though, hopefully, this next iteration will be both roadworthy and legal.
