Now that Dubai has incorporated a Ferrari into their fleet, attempting to outrun a police car just became a bit more challenging.
The latest addition to the force’s lineup, a sports car believed to be priced at approximately $450,000, arrives shortly after the reveal of a Lamborghini Aventador earlier this month.
“Dubai is a unique city, and everything within it should represent that uniqueness; therefore, the police will be incorporating a Ferrari sports car into its patrol fleet,” stated Lieut Genl Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Dubai’s police chief.
“We were pleasantly surprised by the public’s reaction to the Lamborghini, prompting us to think that a Ferrari would also be an excellent choice,” he added.
The unveiling of this flashy sports car took place at the base of the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building globally.
Equipped with a V12 engine, the Ferrari FV can achieve top speeds of 208 mph and accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds. It has already been customized with the police force’s recognizable green and white colors.
Authorities hope that these sports cars will discourage owners of high-performance vehicles from exceeding the speed limit.
Additionally, the Ferrari may be utilized by female police officers for patrolling popular tourist destinations.
The Dubai police force’s fleet features other cars as well, including a Chevrolet Camaro SS, a Dodge Charger, and a BMW 5-Series.
