Amy brought $2000 of drugs the night she died

A London drug fixer asserts that he assisted Amy Winehouse in purchasing £1,200 worth of crack cocaine and heroin the night before her death.

Tony Azzopardi, who is scheduled to be re-interviewed by police today, claimed he aided the late singer in acquiring the Class A drugs in the early hours of July 23rd…the same day she was discovered deceased in her residence in London.

The 56-year-old, introduced to the unfortunate star by her ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil, expressed a desire for her family to ‘know the truth about what occurred’.

Azzopardi recounted that he encountered the singer in a black cab near The Eagle pub at approximately 11:30pm on July 22nd. Multiple witnesses had previously stated seeing Amy outside the Good Mixer bar in Camden that evening. According to Azzopardi, Amy requested his help in obtaining drugs, and they traveled together in the taxi to West Hampstead, where he contacted a local dealer.

Shortly afterward, he claims the singer provided $2000 in exchange for half an ounce of both crack and heroin.

He stated that he last saw her when she dropped him off in Archway, North London, before returning to her home in Camden.

Conflicting reports exist stating that Tony Azzopardi asserts he aided the singer in purchasing drugs in the early hours of July 23… the day she was later found dead at her residence in Camden, London.

A few hours later, Amy’s lifeless body was discovered by her bodyguard around 4pm.

Despite Azzopardi’s allegations, police reported no drug paraphernalia was found in the singer’s home. Nevertheless, the Winehouse family contends that Azzopardi’s account does not align with Amy’s activities.

At Amy’s recent funeral, her father Mitch shared with mourners that she had recently stopped drinking after ceasing drug use several years earlier.

The family believes that Amy’s decision to quit alcohol may have played a role in her premature death, possibly leading her body to experience shock or a seizure due to withdrawal symptoms.

Mitch noted that Amy was content with her boyfriend Reg Traviss and had been looking forward to the future in the days prior to her passing.

It may take several weeks to determine the cause of Amy’s death as her family awaits the results of a toxicology report.

An initial post-mortem examination was inconclusive.

Tim Bittlestone from solicitors Leslie Franks confirmed, ‘Both Azzopardi and I attended Kentish Town police station. We will speak to them again on Monday.’

A police spokesperson declined to provide any comments.
