An 80-year-old Japanese mountaineer, Yuichiro Miura, expressed his joy after becoming the oldest person ever to summit Mount Everest.
Having previously conquered the 8,850 metre peak at ages 70 and 75, Mr. Miura successfully reached the summit yesterday morning.
He immediately called his daughter to share his feeling of being “on top of the world.”
“I never imagined I could achieve reaching the top of Mount Everest at the age of 80,” he remarked. “This is the best feeling of my life.”
