It appears that a substantial shipment of wine from South Australia has mysteriously ‘disappeared’ during its eastward transport.
Following the incident, police have launched an investigation as 60,000 bottles from 12 wineries in McLaren Vale did not reach their destination at a depot in New South Wales.
The trailers arrived devoid of stock.
The estimated worth of the missing shipment is $500,000.
Meanwhile, Wettenhalls Transport Group, the firm responsible for transporting the wine, entered administration at the end of last month.
