Conversations between Indigenous Advisory Chairman, Warren Mundine, and Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull have taken place.
Reportedly, Turnbull is dedicated to collaborating with Mundine on Indigenous matters.
When a Royal Commission into the abuse within the Northern Territory detention centres was announced without his input, Mundine expressed significant anger and frustration.
Mundine has been advocating for the government to pay closer attention to domestic violence issues prevalent in Indigenous communities.
Last week, Mr. Turnbull and Mr. Mundine held a meeting during which they engaged in a ‘good chat’ and agreed to work together towards addressing the challenges facing Indigenous communities. The outcome remains to be seen—will it be mere words, or will there be real progress?
