Today, Queensland police will make a decision regarding the continuation of the search for a missing Irish tourist.
The 21-year-old Irishman, who was serving as a crewman, went missing from a commercial fishing vessel this past Friday.
At daybreak on Sunday, nine aircraft – including four planes and five helicopters – along with three rescue vessels, resumed their efforts to search waters northeast of Mackay, including nearby islands and the local shoreline.
Fishermen and recreational boat users have been requested to remain vigilant and to notify police should they discover anything unusual.
While police have informed his next of kin in Ireland, they currently do not plan on traveling to Australia.
