Was Whitney Saving All Her Love for Jermaine?

Claims suggest that Jermaine Jackson had a year-long affair with Whitney Houston.

According to reports, the older brother of the famed Thriller singer, Michael Jackson, allegedly inspired the video for Whitney’s 1985 single Saving All My Love For You, which narrates a woman’s romance with a married man. For the video, the singer even hired a Jermaine lookalike.

It has also been reported that despite the end of their affair after a year, Jermaine and Whitney remained in contact, with Whitney offering support to Jermaine after Michael’s passing in 2009.

Following the tragic loss of Whitney last month, Jermaine was reportedly heartbroken over the death of his close friend and purported former lover.

A source stated: ‘Jermaine has been devastated by her death due to their shared history.’

‘Nobody understood the depth of his sorrow because they were unaware of the connection they had.’

It is asserted that the affair between Jermaine and Whitney commenced in 1984 while Jermaine was still married to Hazel Gordy.

Though Jermaine addressed his friendship with Whitney in the HarperCollins book he published last year, You are Not Alone: Michael, Through A Brother’s Eyes, he has not commented on their alleged affair.

In the book, he notes his struggle with feelings for Whitney, yet states he set them aside for the sake of his marriage.

He wrote: ‘As much as I wanted to lose myself in all these feelings, I told her to wait. Ultimately, we had to go our separate ways, and it killed us both.’

Nevertheless, the source indicated Jermaine intentionally omitted intimate aspects of his relationship with Whitney from his book to portray them as mere friends instead of lovers.

The source further remarked: ‘The reason it ended was that Jermaine wouldn’t leave his wife, which frustrated Whitney. The video for Saving All My Love For You encapsulated all of that.’
