A tribute has been paid by the family of a Brisbane teenager who sacrificed his life to rescue his younger brother from the floods.
At just 13 years old, Jordan Rice, along with his mother Donna, tragically lost their lives when their car was engulfed by water in Toowomba.
Upon the arrival of rescuers, Jordan, despite being unable to swim, urged them to prioritize saving his ten-year-old brother Blake.
Blake was successfully rescued, but the powerful torrents swept Jordan and their mother away.
Kyle, Jordan’s older brother, expressed, ‘He was very shy around others, rarely spoke to them.
‘However, when it came to his family, he would go above and beyond for them.’
What a hero…it’s just so heartbreaking…yet it fills you with pride to be Australian.
