In Australia, motorists might be in for a surprising sight over the coming weeks: a Star Wars Stormtrooper at the roadside.
Jacob French, a Star Wars fan, is undertaking a walk of 3,106 miles from Perth to Sydney to collect funds for the Starlight Children’s Foundation, donning his beloved costume for the journey.
However, unlike the imposing figures of the Imperial Army from the big screen, Jacob isn’t as intimidating, as he must transport his belongings via a trolley.
‘During this trek, I will traverse four states, covering roughly 5,000km in modified Stormtrooper armor,’ he shared on the Trooper Trek 2011 website.
‘Currently, my plan includes pushing a lightweight buggy carrying essential supplies and averaging 35-40km a day for five days a week until I finish the journey.’
This isn’t the first charitable endeavor for Jacob; he is affiliated with the Terror Australis Garrison of the 501st Legion, a group that organizes Star Wars-themed fundraising events.
Last year, he participated in a half marathon in Melbourne, fully equipped in a Stormtrooper outfit.
