The world’s largest tea bag has been created by a tea company located on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast to support cancer research fundraising efforts.
Weighing in at 151 kilograms, this enormous tea bag measures three metres tall and is capable of brewing approximately 100,000 cups of tea.
It is set to be officially revealed later this month during Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea event in Coolum.
However, company representative Brian Condon mentions that they won’t be dipping the tea bag into hot water, as they lack a sufficiently large cup for the task.
“Perhaps next year we’ll aim for the record of the world’s biggest tea cup,” he remarked.
Mr. Condon is currently awaiting official validation, yet he remains optimistic that his company’s tea bag holds the title of the largest in the world.
The existing record, which weighs 120 kilograms, is maintained by a company based in Portsmouth, England.
