In the backyard of their property in Haven, near Horsham in western Victoria, a family dog has unearthed what seems to be a stick of dynamite.
According to Tiffany Evans, her five-and-a-half-month-old puppy brought the explosive to the back door at the moment she was taking her son to school.
The police informed her that it was a sizable pyrotechnic or firecracker, but she will remain unsure of its exact nature until the bomb squad handles its removal.
“We contacted the local police upon believing we had identified it as a stick of dynamite, and they came to advise us on the next steps,” she recounted.
“So far, that’s where we stand. We’re just waiting for its removal now.”
