New Apple device will be call iPad HD

A developer with insider information about today’s launch states that Apple’s new tablet computer will be named iPad HD, instead of iPad 3.

Accessory manufacturers, such as Griffin, which produce cases and other accessories for Apple’s tablet, have similarly categorized the product as iPad HD rather than iPad 3.

This name aligns with the leading speculation regarding the forthcoming tablet – that it will feature a superb Retina display akin to the one found in the iPhone 4S.

The report from tech site CNET indicated that Apple plans to shift from straightforward ‘generations’ of tablets to a naming strategy that resembles that of the iPhone, exemplified by the iPhone 4S.

Previously, platforms like The Verge have indicated that the new tablet would be referred to as iPad HD.

The domain iPadHD.com continues to be operational, and its owner has yet to be contacted by Apple.

‘He mentioned that over the years he has held onto the domain, Apple has never reached out to him, including in the last few weeks,’ according to CNET.

CNET also emphasizes that Apple has previously proceeded with names even when they were already claimed by other entities.

When the iPhone debuted in 2007, the name was under the ownership of Cisco Systems.

No matter the name, the device is set to be revealed on March 7 during a special event at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco.

The invitation reads, ‘We have something you really have to see. And touch.’

Featuring a finger on an iPad screen pointing to the Calendar app set to March 7, the invitation creates intrigue.

Apple has yet to confirm the specifics of what will be launched at this event.

Speculation suggests that Apple may reveal new technologies, such as its anticipated Apple TV or a smaller iPad version during the event.

However, these seem improbable as extensive information regarding the new iPad has been leaked from Apple’s manufacturing facilities, and there have been no indications of entirely new technologies like an Apple-branded television.

Expectations for the new iPad models include a significantly enhanced Full HD display.

According to Bloomberg, the iPad 3’s processor will be a ‘quad-core’ device, propelling Apple’s tablet ahead of rival devices such as Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 in computational performance and paving the way for innovative high-powered applications.

Tech site MacRumors asserts that the device is likely to be ‘nearly identical’ to the iPad 2, which aligns with additional leaks from Apple’s accessory manufacturers.

The new device is anticipated to resemble the existing iPad 2 but will feature a much sharper HD display and an advanced processor capable of delivering impressive visual effects.
