Clint Greenshields, the Australian fullback, is in trouble with his Super League team, the Catalan Dragons, following inappropriate remarks he posted on Twitter regarding referee Ben Thaler.
After witnessing his team’s 34-18 defeat in the Stobart Super League at Headingley last Friday, the 30-year-old faced backlash for labeling Thaler as “retarded.”
As a result of his actions, the ex-St George Illawarra player has received a three-day suspension, along with a fine of $2,563 from his club. Furthermore, he has been excluded from participating in Sunday’s Carnegie Challenge Cup fifth-round match, despite currently being injured.
