High-profile actor Ernie Dingo has rejected claims that he slapped an 11-year-old boy at a Carnarvon Primary School last week.
“I see many people getting worked up. I am trying to stay calm, but underneath, I’m the proverbial black duck, paddling furiously to understand where this is coming from. I didn’t do it. I was playing basketball with the young lad. I love basketball, I love kids,” stated Mr. Dingo.
The alleged incident took place last Wednesday morning while the actor was in the Gascoyne town for NAIDOC Week, which honors Aboriginal history and culture.
It is said that Dingo made a remark directed at the boy during the school assembly, where he was a guest speaker, following the supposed assault.
