According to a former acquaintance, Osama bin Laden, the ex-leader of the al-Qaeda terrorist organization, greatly admired Whitney Houston and expressed a desire to marry her.
Kola Boof, a poet and activist who reportedly spent several months living with bin Laden on a Moroccan estate in 1996, noted that he frequently mentioned his wish to travel to the United States to meet Houston. She stated that he indicated he would be willing to invest “vast amounts of money” to achieve this goal.
In her memoir, Diary of a Lost Girl: The Autobiography of Kola Boof, Boof wrote about bin Laden: “He expressed a paramount desire for Whitney Houston, and although he maintained that music was evil, he often spoke of traveling to America to arrange a meeting with her, regardless of the costs.”
She elaborated: “He expressed a desire to gift Whitney Houston a mansion he owned in a suburb of Khartoum. He indicated that to have Whitney, he would be willing to set aside his color preferences and take her as one of his wives.” Boof remarked that bin Laden frequently commented on Houston’s beauty and believed she had been “brainwashed by American culture.”
Regarding this, she wrote: “Whitney Houston’s name came up repeatedly. How beautiful she was, what a nice smile she had, how genuinely Islamic she truly is but was simply brainwashed by American culture and her husband Bobby Brown, regarding whom Osama spoke of wanting to kill, as if discussing such matters was commonplace.”
Bin Laden was killed in Pakistan’s Abbottabad in May 2011 after spending a decade in hiding.
Whitney Houston passed away on Saturday (February 11, 2012) at the age of 48.
