After breaking his neck and becoming paralysed, a man has discovered a new way to experience sex…by learning to orgasm through the caressing of his thumb by a woman.
Rafe Biggs, a 43-year-old from California, became quadriplegic after a fall from a roof.
Having lost all sensation below his waist, he worried that he would never experience sexual pleasure again.
However, one year following the accident, he had an orgasm thanks to a girlfriend who sucked and massaged his thumb.
Mr. Biggs now considers his thumb as a “surrogate penis,” expressing, “I felt this build-up of energies and sensed that I was getting closer and closer to orgasm.
“When it happened…it was incredible. I never imagined it would be possible, but the sensation of massaging and sucking on my thumb resembles what my penis used to feel…it’s really hot.”
Mr. Biggs, who has founded a support group aimed at helping individuals with disabilities experience sex, regularly meets with sex therapist Lisa Skye Carl, who stated:
“What Rafe is undergoing is known as a ‘transfer orgasm’ – where a different part of the body produces the same sensation. He experiences a significant reduction in pain following a session.”
