It is alleged that Theodora Richards wrote ‘T-Heart-A’ on a New York convent. At the time of her arrest, she reportedly possessed marijuana and hydrocodone pills. The 25-year-old model was released without needing to post bail and did not enter a plea.
- Keith Richards’ daughter has been taken into custody on charges related to graffiti and drug possession in New York.
On Tuesday night, police apprehended model Theodora Richards, 25, for allegedly vandalizing a convent building while in possession of marijuana and pills.
After spending the night in police custody, she made her court appearance in Manhattan yesterday.
Reportedly, when a police officer allegedly found her in the midst of the act of vandalism, Miss Richards stated, ‘I hope I don’t get in trouble for this.’
According to the court, an envelope containing marijuana was retrieved from her purse, along with eight-and-a-half hydrocodone pills, which are available solely by prescription in the U.S. for pain relief.
Of the pills, Miss Richards allegedly commented, ‘I don’t have a prescription for them.’ She further claimed to have bought the pills from a dealer, believing them to be Xanax.
She faces charges for making graffiti, possessing a graffiti instrument, possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of marijuana.
On March 1, around 10:40 pm New York time, police officer Christopher Davis reportedly witnessed Miss Richards using a paint marker to inscribe the initials T and A onto the wall of St Anthony’s Convent in Soho, Manhattan.
It was speculated that the writing could either represent a romantic note to an unidentified ‘A’ or a tribute to her younger sister, Alexandra, aged 24.
The case is set to resume on April 21, during which she was released. Following the hearing, she left court without making any comments and was driven away.
With her residence in New York, Miss Richards is the eldest child of Rolling Stone guitarist Keith Richards and his wife Patti Hansen, 54, a former model herself.
In the past, Miss Richards had asserted that she differed from her father’s generation regarding interest in drugs, emphasizing that being a rebel felt boring. She remarked: ‘My dad’s generation was all about rebellions. I’m rebelling against my generation in a softer way.’
Keith Richards, now 67, is famously recognized as the wild man of rock and roll and has a history of heroin addiction. Throughout his life, the music icon, who has four children, has faced arrest five times related to drug offenses, including a single imprisonment in 1967 for possessing amphetamine tablets.
He was swiftly released from Wormwood Scrubs in West London merely 24 hours later while awaiting a successful appeal. In 1978, he received a suspended sentence from Canadian authorities after acknowledging heroin possession.
The graffiti etched on the convent wall is notably small and difficult to notice. However, the nuns expressed disappointment regarding the discovery on the premises.
Miss Richards began her modeling career at 16, featuring alongside her younger sister Alexandra and Elizabeth Jagger, Mick Jagger’s daughter, for a Tommy Hilfiger campaign.
Her modeling career flourished, leading to appearances in prominent fashion magazines including Vogue, Glamour, and Rolling Stone.
In 2006, she relayed to the celebrity site FemaleFirst, ‘My dad’s generation was all about rebellion. I’m rebelling against my generation in a softer way.’
‘Most of the kids around me simply want to party every night, but that’s not me. I’m not particularly fond of drugs. Each person has their own experience.’
No other arrests were reported alongside Miss Richards last night, leaving it uncertain if she was accompanied.
