Initially, there was Take That, followed by Steps, and now it appears that S Club 7 is the newest band to embark on a reunion journey.
This morning, reports surfaced claiming that the band, known for their nineties hits such as Don’t Stop Moving and Bring It All Back, have secured a new record deal.
Hannah Spearritt, Paul Cattermole, Jo O’Meara, Rachel Stevens, Tina Barrett, Jon Lee, and Bradley McIntosh are also gearing up for an extensive new tour together.
A source revealed: ‘The members have received numerous approaches and offers over the last three years but have consistently turned them down.
‘However, after several discussions and meetings, they chose to seize the opportunity. The band realized it was a now-or-never situation. If the performances are successful, there’s a possibility for a new album release and a Greatest Hits collection.
‘Everyone is really pumped and working hard to get back in shape.’
The band’s PR stated that the reunion reports are ‘simply rumors at this point.’
S Club 7 was formed by Simon Fuller, the former manager of the Spice Girls, and achieved fame in 1998 with their TV show Miami 7 while simultaneously pursuing a pop career.
They achieved four UK number one hits and sold over seventeen million albums around the globe before their initial breakup in 2003.
The group reunited for the first time last March in London to celebrate former member Jon Lee’s takeover of the lead role of Frankie Valli in the musical Jersey Boys, igniting speculation about a potential reunion.
