Riots are down to ‘Brutal TV’, says Noel Gallagher

“Brutal TV and videogames” are, in part, what Noel Gallagher believes to be responsible for this week’s riots.

The former Oasis frontman, whose brother Liam reportedly had around $400,000 in clothing stolen from his Manchester store during the unrest, has urged for the construction of additional prisons to accommodate the newly incarcerated rioters. He expressed that he cannot “understand where the energy for the riots is coming from.”

He stated, “I can’t grasp where the energy for these riots originates. We reside in an era marked by violence – and regardless of what others believe: Brutal TV and brutal videogames contribute to this senseless violence too. People have become numb to violence, accustomed to it. And if they are apprehended, they aren’t adequately punished. Are the prisons already at capacity? Then new ones need to be built!”

He went on to say, “It’s insane! It’s merely violence for violence’s sake. Those participating in these riots are not impoverished. These are youngsters equipped with mobile phones and all sorts of gadgets. The police and government must implement bold actions. These fools are ruining their own neighborhoods. In six weeks, when all is forgotten, they will appear foolish and come to realize that the homes remain wrecked, burned, or whatever. These individuals aren’t asking for anything; they lack objectives. They simply destroy their own property. How foolish can one be?”

The guitarist labeled the occurrences as “the pointless violence of fucking idiots” and asserted that he sees no justification for the riots.

He added, “There are no justifications! A man gets shot – a gangster, I might add, who was armed. If you live by the sword, you die by the sword! And then, out of nowhere, riots spring up everywhere. There is no justification for that. It is nothing more than pointless violence from fucking idiots.”

Noel Gallagher is set to release his debut solo album ‘Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds’ in October.
