Pete Doherty struggling from Amy’s death

For the first time, Pete Doherty has addressed the passing of Amy Winehouse.

The former member of Libertines was acquainted with the singer, and they occasionally spent time together.

Doherty expressed, “I’m grappling with everything because I’m so confused about what happened to Amy. I was asleep when I received the news of her death. Someone had to awaken me to inform me. It was hard to process and remains hard to accept. Coming to terms with this reality is nearly impossible. It’s challenging to comprehend that she is no longer with us.”

The two were occasionally spotted in London, often appearing unsteady on their feet. Pete would typically carry a guitar on his back, and they frequently attempted to enter closed wine bars and pubs.

On one notable occasion, they ended up at Amy’s place, and reliable sources indicate that they recorded some music together. The specifics of what they recorded are uncertain—it might have been “Baa, Baa, fucking Black Sheep” for all I know.

In the brief time they spent on this planet, they likely lost, snorted, injected, or smoked any recordings they may have produced, which is unfortunate.

Both Amy and Pete are remarkable songwriters, which means that the ‘druggy love’ recordings might remain unreleased.

Occasionally, they shared a public kiss while being inebriated, and given their states, they likely believed they were kissing their respective partners at the time.

Doherty was released from prison last month after completing two months of a six-month sentence for cocaine possession.

However, he may face a return to incarceration after allegedly breaking into a record shop in Germany and stealing a guitar.

If convicted, he could face an additional five years in prison.

Nevertheless, Pete Doherty and Amy Winehouse are considered among the most innovative songwriters of our era… let’s hope Pete doesn’t follow the same tragic path that Amy did.
