French band called Dandies have recorded an obscure duet with Pete Doherty.

Doherty sings in French, apparently for the first time on record, on the band’s new single ‘L Comme Liaison’.

Doherty doesn’t appear in the video.

Dandies posted a photo of themselves with Doherty on their Facebook page on March 17 as a “souvenir” from their recording session with the singer.

The band, virtually unknown, are a four-piece from the city of Le Mans, 200 km’s east of Paris.

On their website, they list Kings of Leon, The Kinks and Françoise Hardy as influences. Their collaboration with Doherty is taken from their debut album ‘Illusion Et Imparfait’, which has just been released.

Meanwhile, Doherty is currently working on his second solo album, the follow-up to 2009’s ‘Grace/Wastelands’.
