Mumford and Sons announced that they are currently in the “final stages” of recording their follow-up album to ‘Sigh No More’.
The band plans to release the album later this year, with their multi-instrumentalist Ben Lovett stating that they are nearing completion.
Regarding the album’s progress, he mentioned: “We are in the final stages, we’re not finished, we don’t quite know the exact tracklisting. Some songs have been road-tested, and we’ve added new tracks while dropping others that might have been expected on the record. Our goal is to create a cohesive album that best represents who we are at this moment.” Lovett further noted that the band has yet to determine which new songs will be included on the album and could not provide details about a release date.
He commented on this matter: “There just isn’t a release date yet. We can’t even confirm that any specific song is definitely on the record because we simply don’t know. However, we’re making it a priority and working diligently.”
The band is also scheduled to perform at this year’s Amnesty International Secret Policeman’s Ball fundraiser in New York next month.
