Recently, she was compelled to publicly deny that she is a lesbian.
However, it has become apparent why singer Kelly Clarkson is seldom photographed with men—she consistently ends up on dismal dates.
Over the years, there has been considerable speculation regarding the sexuality of the American Idol winner; however, her dating history might provide some explanation.
She remarked: ‘Man, I just keep going on horrible dates.’
‘I’m like, “There’s not enough wine in the world for me to enjoy this.”‘
‘A guy once told me—and I hope he hears this because he is utterly ridiculous—he said, ‘”I can’t believe I’m on a date with Kelly Clarkson.”‘
‘And I barely whispered, ‘”Wow, I can’t either.”‘
Nevertheless, despite her dating struggles, Kelly, 29, expressed her desire to find Mr. Right.
The Texan mentioned: ‘Some days I think, “I’ll meet him. Everybody finds somebody,” while on other days I ponder, “Maybe I won’t. Perhaps I just missed the memo.”’
This admission comes shortly after she denied any preference for same-sex relationships.
Earlier this week, she commented: ”I’m from a small town, and everyone’s either married with kids or about to start a family.’
‘It’s a bit challenging when I return home, as people ask, which leads them to think I’m gay, wondering, “Why aren’t you married?”‘
‘And I respond, “It doesn’t happen for everyone right off the bat!”‘
In the same interview, Kelly made another intriguing revelation—she and her band have formed a book club.
She stated: ‘It’s not formal—we’re definitely not as cool as Oprah—but we do read together.’
‘When people join us on tour, they say, “This is the geek tour!”‘
‘The last book we all read was One Second After—it’s quite frightening.’
Perhaps her absence from a wild rock and roll lifestyle on the road can be explained by her engrossment in the latest novel.
She also disclosed that, despite being the inaugural American Idol, she has developed a fondness for its rival show, The Voice.
Kelly shared: ‘I love The Voice. Blake Shelton is a friend of mine and one of the judges, so I tuned in for that, but then I fell in love with the show.’
‘I still watch Idol, and it remains the number one show, which indicates I’m not alone in enjoying a night at home being entertained.’
